Pre-K Pictures

March is upon us. Which means the days of school remaining is minimal, especially since spring break will be here very soon and then Easter next month.

The week of March 4th will be very short.  There is no school for pre-k and kindergarten on the 4th, 5th or 8th.  On the 4th and 5th we will be doing kindergarten screening and the 8th is conferences.

Please refer to the St Jude web site, for all the happenings going on in the school and church.

Thank you all so much for sharing your precious child(ren) with me.

God Bless

Ms. Seely

Half way through our second week of school, both class's are doing amazing.

We have started our "round trip" folders. Please check them each day and put them back in their backpacks.  If you have things for me, please put it in the folder and I will be sure to get it.  I will do the same.

We will NOT be doing our "clip" reward system. Studies have shown that this does nothing for a childs self esteem.  I will be doing other forms of "rewards"  Please don't ask your child "what color" they got.  There are no colors.

Please have them read the word of the week to you.

When they come into the classroom, they are to get a squirt of hand sanitizer before putting backpacks away.  The round trip folder will go on their cubby shelf.

We are working on coughing and sneezing into their elbow. Please reinforce this at home.

There is a peanut allergy in the MWF class, so please DO NOT send snacks containing peanuts.

Check out St. Jude Preschool fb page.

Thank you for sharing your most precious treasure with me.

Ms. Seely

Barnes and Noble:Share the magic of reading by purchasing a book or two at the 10th Annual Barnes & Noble Bookfair Saturday November 11th, 9 am to 9 pm, to benefit nine Catholic schools* located in Wichita, Coffeyville, and Newton. Our goal is to improve reading levels by providing new classroom and library books. Combined, these schools have at least 63% of their students receiving either free or reduced lunches.  They do not have financial means to purchase new library books.

Ways to help:

1.      Purchase a book for the school library. We have a great selection of books already for you to pick and buy for the school. We deliver.

2.      Make a purchase and tell any cashier you are with the book fair, we receive a percentage of the sale from all sales including coffee.  This will help purchase more books. So come get a jump on your Christmas shopping.

3.      Unable to attend but would like to help?  You can mail a check to any of the following schools or St. Katharine Drexel Catholic School Fund – 424 N. Broadway Wichita, Ks.  67202 by November 4th.  Please indicate “Bookfair” on the memo line. Or donate on-line: https://give.catholicdioceseofwichita.org/pages/Drexel/book-donation

Hello Families

Your kiddos are settling in nicely. They already have the majority of the routine down and have all made new friends.

We are continuing to learn how to talk to god.  Our hands are in front of us, fingers pointed up.  Our bodies are still and our mind is calm. We are working on the Angel of God prayer, and the prayer before meals.  Along with any Catholic prayer, the sign of the cross comes in to play.  Please help them with this at home.

The morning pre-k will begin going to library next week.  They will go on Monday's at 8:30, they wont check out books right away, we will wait a few weeks, to let them get use to it.  The librarian is not here in the afternoons for our afternoon class.

You will start to see notes coming home in regards to fall fest.  Please let me know what questions you may have.

Thank you for sharing your most precious treasure with me.
