The past two weeks your child has been learning how a green screen works! They have even had the opportunity to stand in front of one with different pictures and videos. Also, each grade has had a different digital Advent project. We are learning about what Advent means and how we can prepare our hearts for Jesus.

Hour of Code week is underway in Technology class. The Hour of Code week takes place each year the first week of December. The week is to highlight and encourage computer science in the classroom. This year I signed up St. Jude to host an hour event. This means each grade will be learning and practicing computer programming for an hour during this week. Here is a link to the video we watched in class- Hour of Code Video

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am back from maternity leave. I was blessed to have a sweet little boy named Riley Parker Diskin. This week we have started talking about Advent and how we can prepare our hearts for Jesus. Each computer based project this week focuses on how we can do that while incorporating our computer standards. Here is what we have been working on this week:

Also, if your child is in 4th-8th grade, they have Google Classroom. Each week their assignments are posted on it. So, if you want to check in with them, they can login at home.

I just wanted to let you know that I will be leaving for Maternity leave sometime in the next two weeks. My sub while I am gone is Alanna Garrett. If you have any questions or concerns while I am away, please email her at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We have had a GREAT start to the school year. Students in grades 3rd-8th have been bringing home their Acceptable Use of Technology Policy for St. Jude and a technology survey. These are all due by August 30th. I have attached the Acceptable Use Policy below. Also, each week I update my website with what standards/assignments we are covering for the week. If you have any questions or want ideas for home use of technology, please don’t hesitate to ask! This first week we have been learning how to login, create passwords, parts of the computer and technology rules!
