The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process through which men and women are welcomed into the Catholic Church.  It is a process of discerning and ritualizing stages of conversion leading to sacramental initiation at the Easter vigil. It is Father Vacca and the St. Jude parish members, by their witness, worship, service and teaching, who offer the support necessary for this initiation. The program is open to all persons seeking to join the Catholic Church or wanting to learn more about the Catholic faith. A new class begins once each year after Labor Day and ends two weeks after Easter Sunday.  Parishioners who want to be a helper, teacher, or sponsor are always welcome.

To learn about the Catholic Church, there are many helpful websites.  Check out the links on the side menu.

RCIA Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 3:  We had guests Jake and Ramie Samour.  Jake is the Director of Marriage and Family Life for the Wichita Diocese.  He and his wife, Ramie, are members of St. Jude parish.  Jake and Ramie took us through a demonstration of our Mass to show us how our own family is "The Domestic Church."

RCIA Ceremony Next Week

At the 8:30 Mass on Nov. 15,  Father Jim will conduct the Rite of Welcoming for our RCIA  inquirers.  They are learning about the Catholic faith and will take part in this ceremony with their sponsors.    They will begin the Breaking Open the Word sessions, which is discussing the readings from the Mass.  It's a beautiful ceremony to witness and an opportunity for the congregation to welcome them.   Please pray for those in the RCIA process.
