                                                      “Rock”ets Music Letter

                         Welcome to Music 2017

“Music is the universal language of mankind,” said the poet Longfellow. As you have read in the news, music is a very important factor for developing a student’s mental faculties.  We will work to develop skills that will meet  National and State Standards in Music and work on each of these standards during the year on every class level, kindergarten through eighth grade.

                                       Attention Youth Cantors !!!

Students will be class cantors for grades three through eight at the daily masses each morning. If you wish to be a class cantor you must be willing to sing in tune with your classmates and your sound must be able to reach the microphones. This is a ministry of stewardship for the parish and school which requires responsible students.  The 2017– 2018 school year will be a very good year if we all work together for the glory of God.

Attention 6th - 7th and 8th grade students! Choir Members! Needed!

We will have a Middle School Choir again this year that performs for the school, parish and Harvest House organization. We’ll sing our annual Christmas Tour in December where we will perform at Presbyterian Manor, the Wesley Rehab Hospital and at the Spiritual Life Center. If you wish to be a member, you will have to make a commitment to the group, for a full semester. This will require some extra work but we will have fun also.

                                        Piano Lessons

Piano lessons are available after school for students grades three through eight on a first come basis. Please check on lesson times available after school registration. There are a limited number of 30 minute lessons after school until 5;30.

Several students have signed up for piano lessons at registration and now there are still lesson times available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 4:30 and 5:00. Contact Mrs. Michot if you are interested in one of these lesson times.
